On the Ground and Helping in Sulawesi

Dear Friends,

The Indonesian island of Sulawesi has long been on our hearts. Our founder Paul Hattaway first visited Sulawesi in 1989 and we support many Indonesian evangelists there.

You have probably seen news about the devastating earthquake and subsequent tsunami that has officially killed around 1,500 people in the Palu area, with thousands more missing and feared dead.

Our co-workers on the ground are already assisting the victims and sharing Jesus Christ as they do so. The initial need is US$45,000 to buy 10 tons of rice and 5,000 blankets and food boxes (containing dried fish, biscuits, noodles and milk).

If you would like to support the rescue and aid efforts, we invite you to do so online via our Persecution & Relief Fund, or by mailing a check to one of our Asia Harvest offices. 100 percent of donations marked "Sulawesi" will be applied directly to this need.

Please pray for the survivors of this disaster, and for the kingdom of God in this unreached part of Indonesia. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Until All have Heard of Jesus,
The team at Asia Harvest

On August 26th, a catastrophic debris flow and flood, triggered by a glacial collapse, struck Nepal near the Chinese border. This torrent traveled nearly 100 km (62 miles), destroying everything and everyone in its path. The scale of this devastation is unprecedented. One ministry we support sent a reassuring report that they were able to account for all their ministers living within the disaster zone. Tragically, however, entire house church fellowships perished in the flood, along with many of their family members.
