March Newsletter: 2014 Annual Report

We are thankful for the opportunity to share our Annual Report, detailing the help that Asia Harvest provided the Body of Christ throughout Asia in 2013.

Each year that we follow and serve the Lord Jesus brings with it a new emphasis. Looking back on last year, we believe the Lord challenged us to refocus our efforts on the things He has called us to, and not to be distracted by anything that might seek to take our focus off the one thing that matters—pleasing our Heavenly Father.

It has been a great privilege to serve the Lord in Asia for another year, and we are blessed to be a link in a chain that has resulted in many people coming to know Him. Last year more than a million believers were strengthened in their faith after receiving God’s Word through our Bible projects, and the hundreds of Asian evangelists we support led thousands of people to faith in Christ among dozens of remote unreached people groups. In 2013 we were also blessed to help 740 injured or ill church leaders through the Living Martyr’s fund, while 1,587 children in Vietnam received free surgeries through Project Smile.

For more than 25 years our strategy has always been to operate with as few overhead expenses as possible, so that resources get to the hands of the frontline workers of God’s kingdom—the many Asian Christians we feel honored to assist and serve. We are thankful for each person who prayed for and supported our work last year. Without your vital partnership none of these things would have occurred.

On August 26th, a catastrophic debris flow and flood, triggered by a glacial collapse, struck Nepal near the Chinese border. This torrent traveled nearly 100 km (62 miles), destroying everything and everyone in its path. The scale of this devastation is unprecedented. Although the number of fatalities is uncertain right now, it has undoubtedly killed many thousands of people. One ministry we support sent a reassuring report that they were able to account for all their ministers living within the disaster zone. Tragically, however, entire house church fellowships perished in the flood, along with many of their family members.
