Fire Among the Rohingya – An Opportunity to Help New Rohingya Christians

Dear Friends,

In recent years you may have heard how hundreds of thousands of ethnic Rohingya people have been targeted for genocide by the vicious Buddhist military rulers of Myanmar (formerly Burma), who have now turned their guns against their own people and are killing hundreds on the nation’s streets.

Multitudes of Rohingya were raped and murdered in the carnage against them in recent years, while tens of thousands managed to flee to refugee camps in neighboring Bangladesh and India.

One thing you will never read in the media is that hundreds of Rohingya have heard the Gospel and become Christians! We now support over 30 Rohingya evangelists, who are busy sharing Jesus Christ with their own people and discipling new believers.

Recently a fire was deliberately lit by radical Muslims in a large camp inside Bangladesh. In a community with more than 10,000 make-shift shanties made of straw and bamboo, the flames quickly wreaked massive destruction, burning dozens of people to death and leaving more than 1,000 people injured or missing. The above short video was shot by one of the Rohingya Christians we support.

In response, Asia Harvest is sending funds to help 50 Christians who have lost everything. For $215 each, we are providing essential clothing, bedding, food, cooking utensils and building materials for families to construct new shelters.

Please pray for the Rohingya, especially the new Christians among them. If you would like to partner with us to help our destitute brothers and sisters, you can do so through our Persecution & Relief Fund, or by sending a check with a note “Rohingya” to the Asia Harvest office nearest you. 100 percent of donations received will go directly to this need.

Until All have heard of Jesus,
The team at Asia Harvest

At the beginning of 2024, we give thanks for the opportunity to once again serve the Lord Jesus Christ in Asia. We greatly appreciate the prayers, encouragement and support of those Christians around the world who have been led by the Holy Spirit to join hands with us. Together, we are helping many who have never heard the Gospel become aware of the incredible salvation the Son of God has won for them.
