“Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me” (John 12:24-26).

On August 26th, a catastrophic debris flow and flood, triggered by a glacial collapse, struck Nepal near the Chinese border. This torrent traveled nearly 100 km (62 miles), destroying everything and everyone in its path. The scale of this devastation is unprecedented. Although the number of fatalities is uncertain right now, it has undoubtedly killed many thousands of people. One ministry we support sent a reassuring report that they were able to account for all their ministers living within the disaster zone. Tragically, however, entire house church fellowships perished in the flood, along with many of their family members.
