Compass Direct (February 2004) stated the
Beijing house churches numbered "90,000 Christians in 3,000 fellowships,
especially in the suburbs and villages surrounding Beijing." A house
church survey in 2001 estimated 500,000 believers in Beijing at the time, after
powerful revival had swept many parts of the municipality in the previous
years.
