"My parents accepted Jesus Christ in the spring of 1998. Their lives were transformed and they passed the gospel of salvation to me and my sister. At school we are indoctrinated with Marxism and Darwinism, so I dare not disclose my Christian identity. I always commit trivial sins and only pray when I need help from God. I don't read the Bible even though I have time. How can I evangelize my classmates? I wrote to two of them but they replied that faith in God stems only from a psychological need." 1
"I am married and have a four-year-old son. I met Jesus Christ and accepted Him as Lord and Savior while visiting my mother. When I returned home I told my husband that I had attended a gospel meeting. He scolded me for my ignorance and stupidity and persuaded me to give up my belief. I refused his threats and decided to believe in Christ no matter what happens." 2
"In 1993 I received the grace of God's salvation after listening to your gospel program. I desired to be His ambassador to preach God's wondrous love to others. Owing to my timid personality and my inability to abstain from worldly matters, I backed away from God's great mission. My love for God and my fellow man grew cold. Thank the Lord that your message awakened my numb heart. He opened my eyes to realize that 1,300 million souls in this country are lost without a clue how to find God. Once again I enrolled as God's soldier and vowed to cut off all worldly concerns. I am willing to live for the Lord, to love Him, and to serve Him by evangelizing by His mighty grace." 3
"I am handicapped and formerly held extreme views of the world. I even wanted to kill myself, but everything changed after I met Jesus three years ago. A brother from a neighboring village led me to Christ. We often meet to discuss the Bible as we encourage one another. We are children of the Heavenly Father and are people of God, so I don't care what the world says about me. Like a lost lamb who has found his home, I feel warm and happy." 4

"I went to a church meeting and when I heard the testimonies of the brothers and sisters I had a strange, inexpressible feeling. The leader gave me a Bible and a hymnbook. I began at Genesis and was enthralled by the teaching, and started attending church regularly. There are not many young people in our church so I found I could help the elderly learn to sing the hymns. If I miss a Sunday meeting they always inquire why I did not come.
I was baptized and became a lamb in Christ's flock. I praise God from the bottom of my heart that He has chosen me and saved me from sin. He has sent His Spirit to work in my heart. When I meet with difficulties or persecution my Lord always grants me the victory. Since my conversion my behavior has completely changed. At work I memorize and recite Bible verses and hymns and I don't feel tired at all. Work that used to take me four hours to complete I can now finish in an hour and a half!" 5
"More and more people are being converted—workers, peasants and students. Just a few days ago a group of police from the city rushed to a middle school in our small town, because many students are attending church. Rural churches are packed out on Sundays." 6

"I am a brother who meets in a house church in Jinan City. Because I have been attending a Bible study class, the Public Security Bureau, State Security Service and the Religious Affairs Bureau have all investigated me. I have stopped my Christian work and am quietly praying and reading the Bible at home. My Christian brothers and sisters have temporarily stopped having contact with me." 7

"In 1993 my husband started his own business. I later discovered he loved someone else and it broke my heart. God saved me at the lowest point of my life. Although my husband has not yet repented, my heart is full of peace and joy. I previously worshipped idols, burned incense and spoke foul language, but Jesus had mercy on me and saved me by the cross. I was set free from the bondage of sin and became a child of God. I am so thankful for His great love. Now I am no longer a slave of sin. I believe in due time He will save my husband too because the Lord does not want anyone to perish." 8
"I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis of the brain, and a shortage of blood circulation, but I am determined to carry on my service for the Lord because I am the only seminary graduate among 17,000 believers in our county. I am 74-years-old in the flesh but am only a baby in the spirit. I will not lose heart even though my hair has turned gray. I have decided to complete this spiritual journey." 9

"The Lord has led me to do children's Sunday school work. I have given myself entirely to the Lord, and wherever He leads, I will follow. It is more dangerous to do children's work than to work with adults. If arrested I will immediately be sentenced to jail. I believe God will revive Christian work among the youth of China. Even though I do not fully understand God's ultimate purposes for me, I have given myself to Him and will not look back." 10

"I am 76—an old sister in Christ. In the spring of 1990 I visited Jinan City, where one of my daughter's neighbors asked if I had heard of Jesus the Savior. Awakened with a sense of guilt, I felt God call me...a sinner who had forsaken God for years. I confessed my sins to Him and repented. I am willing to turn my life to God and honor His Lordship. It is His blood that redeemed me. Both my daughter and I now believed in Jesus. How wonderful it was that God should seek me!" 11
